An Easy Way to Get Rid of the Nasty Buildup in the Oven
If you ever cook with the oven, even just occasionally, there will inevitably remain evidence of your dish in the form of grease and leftover food. It is quite tempting just to ignore this issue, as cleaning the inside of the oven is never a pleasant task. But as time goes on, the problem just gets worse and worse, getting to the point where the mess can affect the food that we cook. But luckily, we are going to explain how to get the oven clean without the headache.
There are actually quite a few ways to get the oven clean again. Of course, we can always resort to the cleaning products that can be found at the supermarket. However, if you want to get rid of grease and sludge in a natural and eco-friendly way, we have a method that will do just that.
Easily Remove Sludge and Grime From the Oven
To get started, we will need to get a hold of some baking soda. This all-natural product can help remove grease from the metal racks inside the oven. Simply fill up the kitchen sink with hot water and mix in a few tablespoons of baking soda. Next, immerse the oven racks in the water and let them soak for about ten minutes. After, the grease can be easily wiped away.
If you don’t feel like removing the racks from the oven, then you can also make cleaning spray. Just mix some baking soda with hot water in a spray bottle and apply the solution to the racks inside the oven. Next, simply wipe away the grease with the scouring side of a sponge. You should see the same results as our previous method.
We can also use a combination of heat and oil to get rid of the sludge left in the oven. After you are done baking, you can also take advantage of the remaining heat inside the oven. Carefully drip some olive oil along the affected areas and wipe away the mess with a scouring pad. Next, finish the job by wiping away any remaining dirt with soapy water.
Our last method is for those who have access to a steam cleaner. It is possible to use your cleaner to apply steam to the stains inside the oven. The heat will help break down grease and sludge so that you can easily wipe away any residue with a clean rag.
