Hydrogen peroxide – the protector of plants: a single spoonful will do wonders on your plants: try it!

Using hydrogen peroxide can help you maintain a healthy and beautiful garden at home. As we care for our plants, the last thing we want to see is an army of insects taking over the entire area. To take care of the problem, or even prevent this from happening in the first place, we just need the help of this everyday household product.

The procedure is actually quite easy. All we have to do is mix one part hydrogen peroxide with 9 parts water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture over every surface of the plants that are exposed to insects. If you have already noticed insects in your garden, repeat the process every 2 – 3 days until they are completely gone. Remember that hydrogen peroxide can irritate the skin, so it is best to wear gloves when using this method. Also, test the solution on each type of plant to make sure that you don’t cause any further damage.

Alternatively, you can also use hydrogen peroxide on the soil in your garden. This may be a better option if you are worried about damaging your plants. The same procedure is used to prepare the solution, and the insects will still be discouraged from hanging around.

Other uses for hydrogen peroxide in the garden

Hydrogen peroxide can also act as a great fertilizer. It has the ability to help plants with the absorption of nutrients. This way they can grow faster, stronger, and remain healthy.

We can also help with germination. Before planting new seeds in the garden, soak the seeds in some hydrogen peroxide for about 30 minutes. After enough time has passed, rinse the seeds and they will be ready to be buried.

At times, fungal diseases can affect our plants. When this occurs, we will use our previous procedure again. Dilute hydrogen peroxide in a liter of water and spray the solution wherever there is fungus growing.

If we accidentally overwater the garden, there can be some negative consequences. The flooding can end up damaging the roots of the plants and can even cause rotting. When this happens, though, we can remedy the situation by presenting our solution when watering again. The hydrogen peroxide will help restore health to the plants’ roots and help compact the soil.
