The Trick for Getting Out Black Streaks From the Toilet

One of the many cleaning challenges that we face in the bathroom is the formation of black streaks around the toilet bowl. This is commonly associated with not cleaning enough, but in fact, this is usually not the case. The culprit, instead, is limescale. Limescale is going to build up wherever there is the presence of running water, and getting rid of it can be a little tricky. That is why we are going to go over a few ways to get rid of it.

White Wine Vinegar

White wine vinegar is known for its ability to break down limescale and whiten surfaces. And using it as a cleaning product is simple. Just mix three parts vinegar with one part water and pour the mixture along the area on which the limescale has formed. It would probably be best to do this shortly before going to bed. This way, the solution can have plenty of time to act against the limescale. The next morning, give the toilet a quick scrub and the limescale should disappear.

Marseille Soap

Another technique that is quite similar involves Marseille soap. This time we will take about two to three tablespoons of Marseille soap and mix it with water. To help the soap dissolve, it would be best to use the hot water from the sink. Like before, pour the solution along the affected area. Wait three to four hours and the limescale should easily wash away.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a great cleaning product with all kinds of applications around the house. When using it to get rid of limescale, start by adding two tablespoons of baking soda to a medium-sized glass. Slowly pour in water while stirring, creating a paste. Apply the place on the unwanted limescale and let it sit overnight. The next morning, just scrub the inside of the toilet and flush the limescale down.

Hydrogen Peroxide

The last household item we will discuss is hydrogen peroxide. All you have to do is pour a modest amount on the limescale and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then flush the dirt away. Keep in mind that hydrogen peroxide is also a great cleaner for the sink, the shower, and the bathtub.
