Here Are a Few Ways To Get Rid of Sweat Stains and Smells From Clothes
It happens to practically everyone. Especially during the hotter seasons, sweat stains begin to appear on our clothes which produce a somewhat unpleasant odor. And in this article, we are going to see how we can treat these types of stains naturally before even running them through the washing machine.
Sweating is a completely normal reaction that the body uses to control body temperature. However, the secretion more often than not gets absorbed in our shirts, jackets, and sweaters. Additionally, when we put these garments in the washing machine, the smell can spread to the rest of our clothes. So let’s see how to pre-treat clothes stained with sweat to completely avoid this problem.
Neutralizing Sweat Stains
Once again, baking soda will come to the rescue. We will start by forming a paste by mixing baking soda with water. Next, rub the mixture into the soiled area of your garment. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes, even the whole day if possible. After enough time has passed, you can run your clothes through the washing machine like normal.
Our next natural solution is white wine vinegar. Just soak the area stained with sweat with vinegar and let it sit for 20 minutes. Afterward, the piece of clothing will be safe for washing with the rest of the load.
Next, we have sodium bicarbonate. This is another option that is just like baking soda. We will form a paste by mixing sodium bicarbonate with water and applying it to the stain. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse and wash.
Also, prevention is an excellent way to keep our clothes clean and fresh. Certain fabrics should be avoided during hot and humid weather. Cotton is a perfect example. Also, clothes made from synthetic materials are known to retain smells and cause sweat stains.
